lets go graphic with colour for summer feat. maybelline and nyx

hey everyone ,

summers are the perfect time with your look , your hair , your wardrobe and even your makeup. after playing cool and conservative all year long( for some of us ). this is the time to let our hair down and wear whatever we want. and those who wanna judge , go ahead! we don't care a hoot .

so the following look is a result of a magpie ( me ) who loves all things shiny and colourful ( makeup) and had ( once upon a long time ago,  alot of time on her hands.......... aah the great days ). what better way to beat the ennui than try a new technique .... i m sorry but you have to see my boring old mug again :(

so lets start 

1. apply your favourite concealer of choice and primer. what i like to do is , use a concealer and apply powder on top of the upper and lower lid, especially as my oily lids are prone to creasing.

2.tape the sides of your eyes to get a precise shape . place the tape along your lower lash line and upwards , just the way you would do for a cat eyeliner . ensure that both the sides are equal or you will end up with wonky eye makeup and no one wants to look cray cray ! place loose powder underneath the eyes to catch fallout.

tip:- before sticking the tape right to your lids , stick it and remove it from a surface a few times to loosen the glue. this will ensure that the delicate under eye area isn't harmed.

3. roughly draw the shape you want want with a black eyeliner pencil. i was going for a feline eye shape here . it doesn't have to be precise. we can sharpen it later. this will serve as a guideline for what is going to come next.

3. fill in the shape you have created . i chose a black gel eyeliner as it doesnt crease easily and eyeshadows adhere better to gel than pencil eyeliner.

4. wet your brush slightly and dip into pigment or eyeshadow of yoyur cghoce. tap it gently againt the container to avoid fall out . now carefully place it over the areas covered by the black eyeliner . dont cross the shape created and cover all the areas, leaving no gaps. 

5.take a contrasting colour pigment/eyeshadow and using the same wet brush technique place it around the inner and outer corner. using an angled brush makes this much much easier. blend both the colours into each other slightly at the point they meet.

6. finish the look up by removing your tape. applying teeny tiny bit of blue eyeliner on the lower lashline. notyhing too dramatic (yup thats me saying it...) .line your upper lash line with black eyeliner. i went a bit fancy and drew some dots ( thats all i can do ).curl your lashes and apply mascara . to polish up the look a bit do your brows by filling them up and setting them in place . and YOU ARE DONE!!!!!

7. a peachy coral blush and peachy pink lips later you are all set to take over the wrold( or like me cook yourself a bowl of maggi and sit watching reruns of THE BIG BANG THEORY ...yayyyy love my (not so)social life ....).

1.  oriflame giordani mineral therapy concealer- light
2. medical tape- the paper kind
3. maybelline colossal kajal- the ultimate HG ever
4. maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel eyeliner- black ( another hg )
5. NYX ultra pearl mania - purple
6. random copper pigment from an Indian brand called COVERGIRL ( this hasn't got to do anything with the popular US brand CoverGirl) 
7. lakme absolute shine line liquid eyeliner- is matte . period. dont know why its called shine line .
8. oriflame eye lash curler.
9. maybelline colossal hyper curl mascara- the curl and the volume just rock with this one.
10. faces long wear eyeliner in navy blue (not pictured)
11. faces brow kit 
12. vega angular blender brush
13. real techniques eyeshadow brush.

FACE

1. lakme rose powder- for under the eye to catch fall out.
2. lakme invisible finish foundation - 02
3. lakme radiance compact- natural marble. ( both the above products are cheap and dont offer much falsh back )
4. maybelline dream mousse blush peach satin - along the cheek bones as highlight
5. oriflame very me tinted moisturizer in light - overall highlighter
6. kryolan blush - t1
7. vega foundation and powder brush
8. basicare blush brush

LIPS

1. yves rocher lipliner- bois rose ( a request to all those who know french... please pronounce it for me )
2. avon simply pretty lipstick in mango mania
3. clinique long last glosswear - fireberry

blue storm - edgy smokey blue party/drag eye in 10 steps

hello my ravishing divas !

lots of love from a sick shitball ( thats what i m feeling like right now).

changing weather you see....

so what do you do when your sick at home with a cold ..... you do an eotd........yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

now before i begin ,i would like to clarify a few things..

• the pics are bad. i took them with my cell phome amd that too with a flash. the colours absolutely refused to show up otherwise.
• the brows are a jungle. my local parlour lady is out of town and i refuse to get them done rom someone else . i have had scary experiences in the past.
• i m looking worse dark circles and all. sorry no fotd this time. at least till my blocked nose clears up.

so that's it .

pics are crap, my brows are crap and since its my first attempt at a photo eye tutorial , it might be crap too.

so kindly bear with me .

lets start

1. prime your lids

i used concealer and patted it on the upper and lower lids with my finger. then i set it with a pressed powder. i put a tape on the outer corner of my eye to get a precise shape. 

2.put a black liner on the upper lid

draw a desired shape and fill it in with a black pencil eyeliner. you can use a black cream eyeshadow or even a gel eyeliner for this and blend it out evenly so that no gaps remain.

3.pat on a black eyeshadow

next, pat on a black eyeshadow on the shape you created carefully. ensure again that no gaps remain. there will be fall out but we can clear it later .this will set the liner and prevent creasing. it will also add to the intensity and the blending of the colors we put on later.

4.blend the black eyeshadow

  

blend the black eyeshadow so that no harsh edges remain. this adds to the smokey mysterious feel of the look.

5. pat on a blue eyeshadow

pat on a blue eyeshadow only on the inner two-thirds of the lid . blend the edges of the blue and the black well. do not extend beyond the blended black eyeshadow.

6. add a highlighter shade

add a frosty , lighter blue shade as a highlighter to the brow bone and blend the edges out of the black. add it in the inner corner as a highlight as well.a apply the blue and black eyeshadows blended to the lower lashline.

7. line your eyes and fill in the brows.

fill in the brows with a eyeshadow of suitable shade . liner your upper lashline with a black eye liner of your choice and wing it out slightly at the outer corner.

8. apply blue eyeliner to lower waterline

apply a blue eyeliner pencil to lower waterline for an extra pop of color.

9. apply mascara

curl lashes and apply mascara of choice to top and bottom lashes.

10. clean up 

clean up under the eye and take off the tape. YOU ARE DONE.

MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL MOIUSTRE EXTREME LIP COLOR- Brick rose

price :- inr 220 i got it for inr 210 after discount........*yoohoo* that is about 4 usd 

its official ! i have found " my red lipstick".

i have a theory about red lipsticks that like a foundation everyone has their own perfect red lippie . one shade doesn't work for all .

Also you have to understand that i m an inexpensive beauty addict so the blog name .

This range of lippies in newly launched and when i saw these on urban touch in a sale i was hooked.

I generally tend to gravitate towards darker shades so reds , browns so i chose this shade - brick rose ! after some mishaps along the way the lipstick finally arrived 

I did not know that this shade was going to change the way i looked at lipsticks forever !

Packaging:-

its a sleek red packaging that is quite light weight and easy to carry about . The metallic semi shiny surface is nothing you will be ashamed of to take outside your purse .Also, it aint flimsy so you dont have to worry about it breaking in your bag and creating a mess !

What i feel :-

Its is the most delicious red ever with slight blue undertones. the blue undertones dont make the lipstick unwearable for warmer skin tones like mine because the slight pink shade to it kind of neutralizes the blue . so its wearable and gorgeous for warm as well as cool tones  . one swipe is all you are gonna need for the day 
the claims that the company makes are held true to the dot . 
the staying power is good 4-5 hours with eating and drinking  and with a lip liner will last longer for sure .
if just the colour being fab was not enough they are so moisturizing , that i don't feel the need for a lip balm .
being moisturizing does not mean its  sticky. its are comfortable to wear and my hair don't feel like smooching it from time to time ( one of the reasons i hate the concept of lip gloss.... hehe that's me ). also, it has SPF 15 in it so it will keep your lips from getting damaged due to the harsh effects of the sun like tanning, ageing etc. i , personally, find the SPF quite adequate .
it smells like choco-caramel cookies to me dunno y but i like the smell a lot . it also doesn't have any sickening chemically taste .

now lets got to the crux of it all


pros:-

• true color  nothing sheer lipstick or stuff
• extremely moisturizing 
• has spf 15 adequate to keep your pout from getting damaged due to the sun.
• good smell
• no taste 
• very moisturizing
• quite affordable 
• can work on cool as well as warm skin undertones 

cons:-      

• none i can think of personally 
• smell light be a turn off      

   verdict:-
love love love it.
i wont say buy the shade that i have but do try any other shade in the range  .
you too will fall in love with it
this lipstick is going to make it very difficult for me to not compare this with any other brand or type.
i guess i love these more than the original color sensational ones 

please ignore the way i am looking. had an rough day . btw i think  theis lipstick makes my teeth  look  whiter.....lolz
